Premiering in Florence at the Galleria degli Uffizi, the “Mind of Leonardo” exhibition traveled around the globe, taking a deep dive into Leonardo da Vinci’s thoughts, and highlighting his inventions, discoveries, and artwork. The exhibit contained a number of models that were made after designs found in his notes, including this model of a winged man, created from designs in his “Codex on the Flight of Birds.” Leonardo was fascinated by the possibility of human mechanical flight, and the sketches he created made contributions to the development of actual airplanes in the early twentieth century. And also, thought not expressly Satanic in any way, shape, or form, just looked pretty bad-ass, in my opinion. (Collection: Galleria degli Uffizi)
